Robert Plant foi o grande vencedor do Grammy 2009 ao lado de Alison Krauss, sua parceira no álbum "Raising sand", que levou pra casa cinco prêmios. O dueto formado por Robert Plant e Alison Krauss foi o grande vencedor do Grammy, com cinco gramofones na 51ª edição da premiação da música americana, realizada na noite de domingo em Los Angeles.
A curiosa dupla formada pelo britânico, ex-vocalista da célebre banda de hard rock Led Zeppelin, e a cantora americana de country venceu inclusive na principal categoria, a de álbum do ano, por Raising Sand, que já havia sido aclamado pela crítica. O rapper americano Lil Wayne ganhou 4 estatuetas e o Coldplay três, incluindo o melhor álbum de rock com "Viva la vida or death and all his friends".
